Miniature horses, beekeeping & farm products
Little horses, big stars – right outside our aparthotel in Wagrain you will find the paddocks and pastures of our miniature horses. Guests big and small are completely smitten with them and with so much cuteness overload, you probably won’t be able to resist either: When the little horses come to the fence and trustingly nestle their heads in your hand. You just have to stroke them and then they can hardly believe their luck. As you can see, in addition to our passion for being hosts, our heart beats for our family farm and especially for horse breeding. Our four-legged darlings are subsequently trained as therapy horses. With their ideal size and patient, people-oriented character, they help children with learning difficulties, dyslexia, ADHD, autism, hyperactivity, Tourette’s and much more. You are also welcome to get a taste of the countryside during your vacation at Mariengut, e.g. by helping out in the stables. Look forward to a wonderful natural backdrop and warm encounters with animals.

Our miniature horse breeding
We have been breeding American Miniature Horses and American Shetland horses very successfully for over 10 years. Our animals are also used far beyond the borders of Austria for learning-supported therapies in schools and riding therapies with disabled people. With their sensitivity and gentle disposition, they are predestined for this. We are particularly pleased to be able to help in this way. At home in Wagrain, our horses also enjoy their freedom in the large stable building, in the paddock and on the green pastures and have a lot of fans.
For Bettina, luck is truly in the saddle. With her in-depth knowledge, extensive training (former horse trainer and harness racing driver) and vast experience, she manages our miniature horse breeding program. She lives and loves working with these elegant animals and has already celebrated numerous successes with them.

Farm products
Our farm and nature provide us with many delicacies, which we carefully refine using the old knowledge and recipes of our parents and grandparents. We are very proud of our own rowanberry plantation with schnapps distillery and beekeeping.
